AKEMIYA Suico began creating dolls in 2012 and has held numerous solo and group exhibitions. This book features emotionally captured images of her dolls by photographer Hanabusa Rin!

When I make dolls, I forget everything, my own existence, my boundaries disappear, and I feel as if I'm merging with my beloved.

That moment of self-forgetfulness is like a simulated experience of "death."

Ruminating on that small "death," I create dolls as if they were my beloved suicide partner.
