TANI Atsushi "Ambivalence"
Dark and chaotic, fetish and avant-garde, and supremely stylish!
A virgin photo collection of an atypical photographer!
The appeal of Atsushi Tani's photographs lies in the fact that they remind us of our approach to the beginning. The humiliated woman he draws rather boldly asserts her existence, and her twisted body looks like a reptilian inverting and enjoying life.
--Keiji Ueshima (religious anthropologist)
"Even the poisonous dish." Atsushi Tani has continued to literally put his body through human experiments to see how long he can withstand the powerful fetish poison. What I always feel when looking at photographs of valleys is that the body is endowed with plasticity far beyond our imagination. The state of the body that transforms, is torn, and convulses pushes it to the extreme of Bizarre.
-- Kotaro Iizawa (photo critic)
Atsushi Tani stands on stage with the decadence of the 20th century and the sensuality of the 21st century.
There was a faint stench of 22nd-century death behind it.
--Akira Uno
